In the northernmost part of Burgundy proper, only four miles from Chablis, right up against the Loire Valley border is the appellation Saint Bris. Grown on the same Kimmeridgien soil as Chablis, on a tiny 250 acre appellation, is the only legal designated Sauvignon Blanc in Burgundy.
