Brilliant yellow in color, this wine offers complex, rich and multi-layered aromas of orange blossom, daisy, white wisteria, apricot, peach, white melon and yellow peach. Sweet sensations of custard and creme brule are in perfect balance with the freshness of citrus fruit. On the palate, it is complex, fresh and velvety, echoing the nose with notes of pineapple, melon, Nashi pear, yellow peach and sweet pastry. The finish is fresh, tense and very persistent with citrus, white fruit, and pleasant savory notes. A particularly good match for fish, seashell, risottos and baked vegetables. It is certainly the most well-known Friulian wine in the world: Livio Felluga gives the wine finesse and elegance, maintaining the subtle coppery reflections that characterize its color. Professional Ratings. 93 James Suckling. This shows a mineral nose with notes of pears, orchid blossom and melon skins with some flinty reduction to it. It’s chalky and lightly phenolic with a medium body. Beautiful texture. There’s attractive fruit underneath, reminiscent of peach skins and white cherries. Flavorful finish. 91 Wine Enthusiast. This wine is vibrant, fresh and graceful from the start. Aromas of fresh-cut white flowers, Bosc pear, sweet spice and crushed rock arise from the glass. The palate shows ripe McIntosh apple, with creaminess that is perfectly balanced by a zap of acidity on the finish.
